Getting into the Christmas spirit! We’ve already shared festive photos on Italy “Show and Tell” in Milan and Florence, and here are 6 of my favorite photos from Rome that give you a feel of the festivities here in the city. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!!
1. The rainbow lights along Via del Corso from Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo are magical. During the holidays I intentionally walk down this street whenever I get the chance as it’s a thrilling experience. You can never tire of it!
2. Already an iconic sight, the Christmas tree at the Colosseum makes it even more picture postcard perfect.
3. Christmas market at Piazza Navona is a must-visit during the holidays. Festive and plenty of fascinating items sold by the many stalls.
4. Panettone and pandoro are the traditional sweet treats for Christmas and New Year’s but passing by this store, clearly you can see there are alternatives, especially for chocolate-lovers.
5. Literally a sign of Christmas! “Si accettano ordinazioni per natale” means “Accepting orders for Christmas”. Hope you’re ready for the Christmas festivities.
6. Everyone places a part in making this holiday season festive with their own lights and decorations. These were lights in my neighborhood.
Buon Natale!
