Italy “Show and Tell” is a weekly series published on Sundays where invited guests share 6 of their favorite photos from their trip to Italy or life in Italy, along with a short description.
This week we’re delighted to feature the lovely Deborah from NewJetsetters.com. She has been giving wonderful daily hints on Twitter as to the place she picked for Italy “Show and Tell” and you can check them out on Twitter using the hashtag: #ItalyShowandTell

6 Favorite Photos from Positano, on the stunning Amalfi Coast
Photographs of this very famous coastline cannot fail to stimulate the travel bug in those born to explore. Gorgeous homes, hotels and churches hang from the sides of rocky flower-studded slopes. Terraces overflow with psychedelic bougainvillea. Lemon trees weep with their bounty. Share in some of my beautiful memories!
1. The steep slopes of Positano’s coastline make for a unique & enchanting landscape. The pastel shades of terraced homes cling in a seemingly precarious manner, fitted together like pieces of an extravagant 3D jigsaw-puzzle.
2. The majolica-tiled dome of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta catches the eye no matter what terrace you happen to be standing on. Nestled amongst the lush foliage and vibrant magenta blossoms that cover the slopes, the golden cap seems to shimmer like a second sun on the horizon.
3. Soft pastel-hues, flower bedecked stone stairs, wildly blossoming window-boxes and ornate wrought-iron trim, to walk through Positano is to experience a waking dream.
4. As one lingers on this terrace, alabaster blossoms wave gently on a warm breezes. Imagination takes flight. Mighty Poseidon erupts from the turquoise sea, his stony gaze searching the surface for the “Sirenusai”, mythical mermaids whose beautiful music would lure sailors to their death upon the rocks.
5. Ahh, Positano lemons. This lip-puckering, tongue-twisting, ascerbic fruit is a proud symbol of this region of Italy. Smooth, creamy Limoncello has become a source of national pride; made from lemon zest, grain alcohol & simple syrup, each sip is a taste of heaven on earth.
6. Experiencing Positano is not complete unless you can also see the amazing view from all perspectives – including looking up! The colors and character of this unique region are awe-inspiring from the water; just thinking about the strength and tenacity it must have taken to build these cliff-side vertical dwellings is exhausting!
Thank you Deborah for taking part in Italy “Show and Tell” and for sharing these gorgeous photos of Positano. For more on this stunning town, check out this post for some of my favorite spots in Positano.

So beautiful! I long to visit Positano – I’ve only ever seen it through the bus window in the rain and that was many years ago.
Hi Kathryn, you’ll have to come back to Italy really soon to visit Positano and the Amalfi Coast! It’s stunning and absolutely worth the visit.
