We usually don’t plan a trip to Positano until closer to summer but with a long list of things to do to spruce up our house for summer, the entire extended family decided to spend the weekend there.
This sleepy town in winter finally wakes up from its slumber at Easter, the start to the season that will eventually see flocks of tourist as temperatures rise. All shops were open but it was still serene, a side of the town that few often see. While the weather was still fickle this spring, we were lucky to get a beautiful sunny day on Easter. Here’s what our weekend looked like.
6 Favorite Photos of Positano on Easter Weekend
1. As you can see from this photo, it is evident that it’s still low season in Positano due to the absence of the sunbeds and umbrellas that usually line Spiaggia Grande during peak season. Even with the threatening clouds overhead, the town is still as picturesque.
2. My first impression of Positano, despite the weather, was how pretty it looked in spring as bright colorful flowers added even more color to the town. And though there was not much we could do about the weather, it made for a pleasant visit sans beach.
3. Before any trip to Positano, we often look at the weather forecast. When it rains in Positano, the streets become rivers. The forecast said “light rain” but we found ourselves caught in a terrible thunderstorm as we made our way home. This was the view from where we took shelter. Stunning, wouldn’t you say?
4. On Easter day, as soon as there was a glimmer of sun, visitors took their spot on the beach to soak up whatever sun they could!
5. Trying to feed a troop for Easter lunch requires some serious grocery shopping. With all the stairs in Positano, we were thankful they deliver!
6. By the time lunch came around, it was a splendid day. We had lunch on our terrace and later, recovered from the Easter feast on the sunbeds. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Easter day.
